Spiritual Singing

Vocal Coaching and Training

One of the great joys for all of us who love to sing is singing in a group.  The idea of choral singing and chanting is not new – it’s been around for thousands of years – and it definitely helps us in our spiritual practice.

Think about our joy in singing around the campfire or the fireplace.  The old songs hold part of our ancestry and culture. If you are a practicing Buddhist, Hindu, Christian, Muslim, Jew, you are acquainted with the beauty of music as a medium for personal and community spiritual evocation.

I am a lifelong choral singer and a choral director for the last 7 years.  It is my experience that improved singing technique enhances the joy of our shared music. It’s wonderful to improve our sound as an individual serving in our larger community – whether sacred or secular – it’s life-giving and it’s fun!

It’s my great joy to work with individual choral singers, choir sectionals, and choruses. Coaching, whether it’s about vocal technique, posture, breath, resonance, diction, language, interpretation and/or presentation is my favorite thing to do.
