On 24 Nov 1908 when William Striker was 29, he married Etta May INGALLS,3 daughter of George I. INGALLS (1844-1904) & Effie Maud UDY (1865-1912), in Hettinger, Adams County, North Dakota.3 Born on 26 Aug 1886 in Huron, Beadle Co., South Dakota.3 Etta May died in San Francisco, San Francisco Co., California on 1 Oct 1970; she was 84.3

Walter is listed (with Josie) on the 1900 census as 8 months old and all household members have the same last name, so it is believed that Josie did not marry Walter's father. After she married Hugh Smith, Walter went by the Smith name.16

Josie married Hugh SMITH.16 Resided in the Lincoln, Nebraska area.

34. Etha HAGEMAN.1,16 Born about 1884. It is possible that Etha is named after her mother Vandaline's twin sister Ethelina; Vanna and her twin were the youngest of 10 children. Etha supposedly died in childbirth on 1 Apr 1898.16

Etha is listed as one year old in the 1885 Nebraska State Census. Hageman family legend says that she died in childbirth. The child, Elmer Avis Hageman, was raised as the son or grandson of Christopher Striker Hageman and his wife Vanna, according to Elmer's granddaughter, Shirley Jean Hageman. Shirley's daughter Connie Miller says,"All of Elmer's records show Chris and Vanna as his parents, but 1900 census shows Elmer as Grandson - and my mother believes that to be true also." 16
